Terms of Business

Who regulates us?

We are an Appointed Representative of AFP Partnership Network, 44 Broadway, Maidenhead, SL6 1LU who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Their Financial Services Register number is 300003.
Our permitted business is advising on and arranging Mortgage and Non Investment Insurance and advising on and arranging Consumer Buy to Let mortgages.
Business Buy to Let mortgages are not regulated by the FCA.

Mortgages

We offer products from the whole of the market for:-

  • Residential Mortgages
  • Consumer Buy to Let Mortgages
  • Business Buy to Let Mortgages
  • Second Charge Mortgages

We are not restricted in the range of products we will consider

Insurance

We offer products from a range of insurers for:-

  • Household Insurance (Buildings & contents)
  • Whole of Life (WOL)
  • Level Term Insurance (LTA)
  • Decreasing Term Insurance (DTA)
  • Critical Illness Cover (CIC)
  • Income Protection Plans (IPP)

Which service will we provide you with?

Mortgages

We will advise and make a recommendation for you after we have assessed your needs in relation to:-

Insurance

We will advise and make a recommendation for you after we have assessed your need for:-

  • Income Protection Plans (IPP)

Other Services

We provide an advice and recommendation service only on the products and services mentioned above. Additionally we can help arrange other types of financial products through third party firms. AFP Partnership Network maintain a strategic panel of such firms to facilitate access for clients to the following:

  • Investment & Pension Products
  • Commercial Finance
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Equity Release Products
  • Commercial Insurances

Advice on these products will be provided by the third party firm, who will have the relevant permissions and expertise.

What will you have to pay us for our services?

In some cases a fee may be payable for mortgages and is typically £395. We will make it clear whether a fee is payable and on what terms, before going ahead. No fee will be payable for insurance.

We will generally also receive a payment from the product provider for both mortgages and Insurance. We are able to provide a comparison of such payments from different providers, if you wish.

You will receive a Key Facts Document (KFD) or European Standardised Information sheet (ESIS) when we have made a product recommendation and this will also detail any fees payable.

If you cannot settle your complaint with us, you may be entitled to refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Services (FOS).

Are we covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)?

We are covered by the FSCS. You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and circumstances of the claim.

Insurance

Insurance advising and arranging is covered for 90% of the claim, without any upper limit.

Mortgages

Mortgage advising and arranging is covered up to a maximum limit of £50,000.

Privacy Notice

AFP Partnership Network is the Data Controller responsible for your personal information.

Contract

The lawful basis for processing data are set out in Article 6 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The processing of your personal data is necessary for a contract we have with you, or because you have asked us to take specific steps before entering into a contract.

We may use/process your personal information to:

  • Conduct research
  • Handle complaints
  • Share it with 3rd parties (Lenders & Insurance companies) for the purpose of arranging a mortgage or protection contract
  • Comply with our Legal & Regulatory Obligations

AFP (including all ARs) will not use client’s data for any purpose other than to process, maintain & manage the mortgage or insurance contract for which the data was obtained.
